Manual osteopathic therapists look for the cause of the limitation and then use soft techniques to cure this. The result is that the body can move again in a normal painless way. Manual osteopathy is based on 4 principles:

  • Every body structure supports the body function. If a structure is damaged, not in place or does not function properly, the body will not function optimally.
  • The natural flow of body fluid – lymphatic, vascular and neurological – must be maintained.
  • The essence of the body is the total of its parts. The physical, emotional, social, spiritual and cognitive systems do not work independently but in harmony.
  • When the body has no restrictions, then it has the natural ability to heal.

Manual osteopathic therapists recognize that a body is a complete whole. If all elements are in balance then the person is completely healthy.
